The liberation of the Netherlands was caused by the Nazi Germans. The Netherlands didn’t want anything to do with the war but on the night of May 10 1940 German air forces soared over the Netherlands and bombed Rotterdam. The Germans also invaded on foot and came in to isolate the capital. The Nazis also came in from the skies by parachuting.  When the Germans tried taking over Netherlands the Dutch army tried their best to eliminate the German forces but they were outnumbered. In need of help the Dutch asked for reinforcements from Britain .The Netherlands were also struck by the great depression in 1929 which caused a riot and the government were forced to devalue the currency this also meant that they were a weak country and Adolf new that so he took his chance to strike at them.
